The Ten Major Construction Projects (Chinese: 十大建設; Pinyin: Shí dà jiànshè) were infrastructural development initiatives unveiled by Premier Chiang in 1974. It was aimed to address the effects of the 1973 oil crisis, as well as the severe bottleneck in power and transportation facilities created by rapid economic growth. These projects included a north-south superhighway, a new international airport, renovations to the country's railway network, a new nuclear power plant, and several others.
