Taiwan Production Board

The Taiwan Production Board was a body established with the purpose of overseeing measures to rescue Taiwan's economy, including land reform, the implementation of a new currency, and the management of state-owned enterprises.

The way these enterprises were managed, combined with the protectionism and high tariffs of the 1950s worked to help infant industries sprout and brace for the imminent opening of the economy.
