Sino-US Joint Communiqué

In the Sino-US Joint Communiqué, the United States declared its lack of intention to maintain arms sales to Taiwan in the long term. It was issued in August 1982, the same year the Six Assurances were formulated.

It is important to note that while the communiqué is a non-binding document, it can be said to reflect genuine foreign policy ambitions of the US.
