Pan-Green coalition

The Pan-Green coalition, (Chinese: 泛綠聯盟; Pinyin: Fàn lǜ liánméng) also called the Pan-Green camp is a political term referring to a loosely defined group of people who support increased independence from Mainland China and do not wish to be reunified with it any time in the future. Its name comes from the primary colour of the DPP, the largest party of the coalition.

The group itself forms a spectrum between the more pragmatic Light-Greens, who believe a reasonable amount of cooperation with the Mainland to be necessary, and the Deep-Greens, whose commitment to Taiwan independence dictates that Taiwan should, in their view, pursue further independence regardless of retaliatory measures.

Prominent parties of the informal coalition include the Democratic Progressive Party, the Taiwan Solidarity Union, the New Power Party and the Taiwan Independence Party.
