K. Y. Yin

Yin Chung-jung (Chinese: 尹仲容; Pinyin: Yǐn Zhòngróng; 1903-1963), also known as K. Y. Yin was a famous technocrat of the ROC who is credited as the architect of the economic stabilisation program of the 1950s. He was granted high levels of autonomy by Chiang Kai-shek to implement his policies, which allowed him to staff government agencies and state-run enterprises with other skilled technocrats who were able to rehabilitate Taiwan's economy and create a system where state run enterprises complemented the private sector.

He served until his death in 1963, but his successor, K. T. Li (Chinese: 李國鼎; Pinyin: Lǐ Guódǐng; 1910-2001) continued his work all the way until the 1980s, overseeing the liberalising of trade and setting Taiwan on a course of rapid economic development.
