Cornell University

Cornell University is a prestigious university in the United States and the alma mater of former president Lee Teng-hui.

In June 1995, President Lee made a trip to Cornell to attend the twenty-fifth reunion of his graduating class. Despite him technically flying as a private citizen, his trip was a diplomatic one in all but name, being greeted by US government officials and political figures. At Cornell he gave a famous speech, titled "Always in My Heart", in which he reflected on his years at the university, as well as the remarkable political transformation Taiwan had undergone since then.
