Chen's Five Nos

The Five Nos were a set of five principles Chen Shui-bian swore to adhere to in his inaugural speach. These included:

• No declaration of independence,
• No change to the ROC's official name,
• No referendum on the political status of Taiwan,
• No reference to "state-to-state relations" in the Constitution.
• No abolition of the National Unification Council.
